What to Do If Your Vape Falls Into Water: Step-by-Step Guide

It occurs to a higher number than you would imagine, and it is not always that your equipment is dead. The first few minutes count a lot and after this, below is a step by step guide on how to present the best chances of survival to your vape.

Here's exactly what to do, step by step:

Step 1: Get It Out of the Water Immediately

Don't leave it sitting there. The longer the device stays submerged, the more water can enter the battery compartment, coil, and circuit board. Pull it out immediately, but don't shake it excessively. Shaking it forcefully can push water deeper into the device instead of helping it drain.

Step 2: Power It Off (Do Not Try to Vape It)

Don't press the fire button to see if it still works. That's the last thing you should do. When there is water anywhere around the battery, switching it on may short it, destroy the battery permanently, or in extreme cases, may make it overheat. When it is already off, then leave it off at the time.

Step 3: Take It Apart as Much as Possible

• Remove the pod or tank from the battery/mod
• Take out the coil if accessible
• Remove any removable batteries
• Take off the mouthpiece or drip tip

Step 5: Check the Charging Port and Contacts
